Galicia on your plate
"La Morriña — that untranslatable Galician word that expresses the longing for one's homeland. It's the soul of our cuisine."
Our signature dishes
Each dish tells the story of a region, a producer and a Spanish culinary tradition.
Galician Beef Rib (1 kg)
The centrepiece of our menu. Our beef rib comes directly from Galicia, a region in northwest Spain renowned for its free-range cattle raised in an Atlantic climate. The meat is slowly aged to develop intense flavour and incomparable tenderness. Served with homemade fries and vegetables — perfect for sharing.
Origin: Galicia, Spain
Galician Octopus (Pulpo a la Gallega)
An absolute classic of Galician cuisine. Our octopus is cooked to perfection using the traditional method, then served on a bed of tender potatoes, seasoned with smoked paprika (pimentón de la Vera) and Spanish extra virgin olive oil. A dish that transports you straight to the coasts of Galicia.
Origin: Galicia, Spain
Galician Pastry Empanadas
Our empanadas are made with authentic Galician pastry — thinner and crispier than traditional South American dough. Filled with your choice of fresh scallops, Galician octopus, tuna or chicken. Each empanada is a tribute to Galicia's culinary tradition.
Origin: Galicia, Spain
Iberian Board (Charcuterie)
Our Iberian board is a tasting journey across Spain. Iberian lomo, Iberian chorizo and Iberian ham — all from Castro González in Extremadura, one of the most renowned regions for acorn-fed Iberian pork charcuterie.
Origin: Extremadura, Spain
What is Morriña?
Morriña is a Galician word with no exact equivalent in other languages. It describes a deep feeling of nostalgia for one's homeland, its landscapes, flavours and traditions. At Chez Rosa, Morriña is the guiding thread of our cuisine: every dish is designed to evoke the misty coasts of Galicia, the colourful markets of Extremadura and the warmth of Spanish taverns. Our chef fuses these roots with Italian and Swiss influences to create a unique culinary experience in Geneva.
Galician and Spanish cuisine restaurant in Geneva
Chez Rosa is the only restaurant in Geneva specialising in authentic Galician cuisine. Located at Rue de Lausanne 91 in the Pâquis-Nations district, we import our ingredients directly from Galicia and Extremadura to offer you a faithful and unique Spanish culinary experience in Switzerland. Our Galician beef rib (1 kg), our Galician octopus with smoked paprika and our Galician pastry empanadas are prepared according to traditional recipes passed down through generations.
